Agriculture which is the mainstay of the people in the Karaga district  has been given a boost.

Agriculture which is the mainstay of the people in the Karaga district  has been given a boost.

The District Assembly which seeks to promote these agricultural activities in the area has plowed 3664 acres of farmland for women farmers in the area.

Speaking to www.ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive for the area, Hon. Baba Wahab indicated that through this initiative the assembly was indirectly giving income to the people in the area.

Additionally, the assembly has plowed  5849 acres of land for the Agriculture module under the National Youth Employment Programme, the DCE said.

According to him, the assembly is sponsoring thirty nine community health nurses, and 171 teachers out of which 90 of are under the Untrained Teachers Programme.

He was hopeful that all teachers and nurses who are currently undergoing training would return to serve the district after their education.
