The prestigious launch ceremony was graced by the presence of the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, alongside the DCE of the Anloga District Assembly, who had the distinct honor of presiding over the event.

This crucial multi-country project, generously funded by the Adaptation Fund, is a powerful collaboration spearheaded by a consortium of leading international organizations: the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), Habitat for Humanity International (HfHI), and the esteemed University of Twente.

Its overarching mission is to fortify the resilience of coastal communities in both Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire against the escalating challenges posed by flooding, coastal erosion, and the myriad of vulnerabilities brought about by climate change.

The DCE expressed particular delight that the vibrant coastal community of Whuti, a direct beneficiary of the Ghana component of this vital project, served as the esteemed host location for the launch. This choice underscores the community's integral role in the initiative.

Representatives from all beneficiary communities within the Anloga District – including Agorkedzi/Atiteti, Agbledomi, Dzita, Tegbi, Woe, Lagbati/Lashibi, and Whuti – were in attendance. The gathering saw a powerful convergence of key stakeholders, including revered Chiefs, influential Queen Mothers, dedicated Assembly Members, and respected Opinion Leaders. Their collective presence signified a profound and unified commitment to the critical task of coastal protection and the preservation of invaluable livelihoods for generations to come.
