Teachers have been advised to give off their best and help produce patriotic, law abiding, disciplined and God-fearing children.

Mr Peter Light Koomson, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District gave the advice when he addressed over one thousand pupils at the 57th Independence Anniversary parade at Ajumako.

Mr Koomson said these qualities, required by the children, could only be achieved if teachers stop their absenteeism and concentrate on providing quality education, adding that, his administration will team up with the district directorate of education to promote and ensure quality education.

Commenting on the theme Building a better and prosperous Ghana through patriotism and national unity, Mr Koomson advised Ghanaians to be part of the Better Ghana Agenda, where schools, hospitals, good roads would be provided, as well as the production and consumption of made in Ghana goods.

The DCE recalled when the British colonialist exploited our natural resources, to the advantage of the British government, a situation that led to our forefathers fighting for Ghanas independence.

He paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers, adding that, the legacy left must be built upon by the current generation.

Superintendent of Police Mr Benjamin Osei Addea of Cape Coast, Mr John Harmah, District Director of Education and Mr Koomson took the salute during the match past.
