The Eastern Regional Minister, Helen Ntoso has joined other Officials of the New Juaben Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Kwaku Owusu Acheampong to clean-up the municipality as they intensifies preparation towards the commemoration of Ghana’s 57th Independence Anniversary.

Assisted by staff of the Municipal Assembly, the Ghana National Fire Service, officials from the Municipal Environmental Health Office led by Mr. Kwame Sarfo, Zoomlion among others, they helped clean the central business centre.

the team cleared weeds along the edges of the road, desilt chocked gutters in areas including Jacksons Park, Commercial Bank, Central police station among other.

Speaking after the exercise, the Regional Minster registered her displeasure at the attitudes of market women most of whom did not turn up for the exercise but were engaged in activities that rather delayed the process. As such she assured that more proactive measures will be adopted in future to ensure compliance to take part in such important exercises.

On his part, Dr. Owusu Acheampong, MCE of New Juabeng said the assembly is to collaborate with other stakeholders, Zoomlion in particular to institute regular clean-up exercise while also providing waste bins at vantage points to encourage proper disposal of wastes instead of the gutters.
