Residents in Awudua Electoral area in the Prestea Huni Valley in the Western Region are calling for support from the Assembly to help them rehabilitate the market.

The market is said to be in a deplorable state with several of the sheds left uncovered, a situation that makes trading very uncomfortable and also injurious to the health of the market women who sell there.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the Assembly member for the area, Hon. Isaac Tawiah stated that after the market was built with contributions by the inhabitants over 20 years ago, the facility is yet to receive any form of renovation.

He said the market generates income for the local economy through the tolls paid at the market, adding that the area council cannot undertake the repair works alone and urged for support from the assembly in this regard.

Hon. Isaac Tawiah who was excited at the re-nomination of the District Chief Executive for the area Robert Wisdom Kudjoe for his excellent performance in his first term was confident that the assembly would soon approve his nomination for him to continue with his good works and also come to the aid of the people of Awudia.
