Prestea Government hospital in the Prestea Huni Valley District has been provided a mechanized borehole to improve potable water supply in the hospital, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Francis Adu-Blay has noted.

Prestea Government hospital in the Prestea Huni Valley District has been provided a mechanized borehole to improve potable water supply in the hospital, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Francis Adu-Blay has noted.

According to the MP, the GHs 54, 000 worth project was deemed necessary after various water bodies in the community were polluted with waste chemical from small scale mining activities in the community.

He bemoaned how galamsey action had adversely affected various water bodies in Prestea and its surrounding environs and thus affecting most water bodies in his constituency.

Elsewhere, Hon. Adu-Blay has also funded renovation works on the Prestea Huni Valley district hospital  to improve the hospital’s edifice.

He said the main ward and Out Patient Department (OPD) of the hospital has receive massive renovation works to fit modern standard, adding that these were geared towards boosting quality health delivery in Prestea and its surrounding environs.
