Incumbent Presiding Member (PM) of the Sekyere Central District Assembly, Mr Edward Afoakwa Sekyere, has been re-elected by the members.

He polled 31 votes out of the 37 cast to beat his only challenger, Mr Charles Adusei-Poku in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Mr Sekyere thanked the Assembly for the confidence and called for team work to quicken the pace of the area’s development.

He said members should put the progress of the people ahead of any other consideration.

The Nsuta Circuit Court Judge, Justice Akuffo Nyante later swore him into office.
