The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly with support from the government through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has provided basic schools in the district with furniture.

Over one thousand dual desks supplied by GETfund have been distributed to a number of schools faced with serious furniture challenges, a situation that compelled students to carry their own tables and chairs to and from school daily.

Government’s commitment towards turning the dwindling educational standards in the country around is unquestionable and the assembly has also made substantial investment in the sector and is hopeful the fortunes of education in the district will match with other areas in the country.

Chief Executive of the municipality, Peter Kofi Owusu-Ashia Junior said there is high hope that in the near future, problems related to furniture and infrastructure in schools in the district would be a thing of the past.
