Perons living with disabilities in the Kpando District in the Volta Region continue to receive assistance from the 2 percent of common fund reserved for them.

Perons living with disabilities in the Kpando District in the Volta Region continue to receive assistance from the 2 percent of common fund reserved for them.

The assembly acting in accordance with directive from the Local Government Ministry recently released fund to the disability management committee which also distributed to qualified beneficiaries.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, Chief Executive of the district, Francis Ganyaglo disclosed that about 120 members recently received funds for various activities including education, health and economic activities.According to him, about GHs120, 000 has been spent on this group.

He said committee members and the district social welfare department have also been involved in awareness creation as well as engaging beneficaries in discusions to help them utilise their funds well and expand their businesses.

Mr Ganyaglo noted that more people continue to register and the committee is scrutinizing the list for more beneficiaries to to be rolled in.
