Chiefs from the Atebubu Traditional Area are believed to be the only ones who failed to attend the ceremony, in what analysts say a protest to register their displeasure about the ill-treatment they have suffered from the Mills Administration.

However, the chiefs explained that their action was not "deliberate."

According to them, the BA@50 durbar coincided with the annual Foyawoo Festival which debars the Omanhene and any of his sub chiefs to travel outside the traditional area during the period.

They further indicated that they paid all their contributions towards the anniversary and could therefore not be true that they boycotted it.
