The District Chief Executive for Afigya-Kwabre, Mr Kwaku Oppong Kyekyeku Kaakyire has encouraged school children to be of good behaviour and study hard.

He reminded them that it was through hard work that they would achieve success and become useful to the society.

Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku gave the advice when he visited some schools in  the district to interact with teachers and pupils.

Accompanied by officials of the District Education Directorate, the tour
helped him to learn at first hand problems facing the schools.

He called on the children to eschew laziness, indiscipline, truancy and
avoid bad friends.

Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku appealed to the teachers to exhibit high levels of  professionalism and adopt good work ethics.

He spoke of plans by the assembly to provide incentives to motivate
teachers not only to give off their best but to accept postings to deprived communities in the district.

Mrs Stella Owusu-Aduomi, District Co-ordinating Director, urged the
teachers to be punctual at school and refrain from practices that would
retard the progress of the children.

She asked the female pupils to be focused and not to allow any
distractions likely to stop them from achieving the goal of getting to the top of the learning ladder.

Some of the schools pleaded for their inclusion in the School Feeding
Programme. The provision of furniture, additional classrooms and
accommodation for teachers were the other demands they made on the assembly.

Schools visited by Mr Oppong-kyekyeku included Amanfrom Primary
School, Maase Roman catholic Primary, Ejuratia Islamic, Ankaase
Methodist and Seventh-Day Primary schools and the Odumakyi Primary  School near Ankaase.
