The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Amenowode, has urged eminent personalities from the Keta District to take active interest in and contribute to the debvelopment of the area.

The Minister said this at the Keta Municipal stakeholders conference organised by the municipal assembly.

Mr. Amenowode said the importance of the role municipal and district assemblies were expected to play in the socio-economic, political, cultural and infrastuctural development of their respective areascould not be over-emphasized.

"We all know that the assemblies cannot do it alonewithout the support and co-operation of  the citizens and the private sector," he said, adding that private-public partnership for effective development could not be ignored.

He therefore urged them to use their positions in society to advertise, market and mobilise socio-economic financial resources as well as identify potentials of the municipality to accelerated development.
