New Executives Sworn In to Champion Disability Rights in Keta Municipality
The Keta Municipal Assembly has sworn in executives of the newly inaugurated Visually Impaired Persons (Blind) and Caregivers of Children with Disabilities and Intellectually Challenged Persons Association to spearhead advocacy and improve the welfare of persons with disabilities in the municipality.

The swearing-in ceremony formed the highlight of an inauguration programme organised by the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development at the Keta Municipal Assembly Hall.
Guest of Honour, Madam Margaret Dorvlo (MPHN), administered the oath of office to the newly elected executives, who pledged to promote unity among members, defend the rights of persons with disabilities and work towards creating more opportunities for their socio-economic development.
Regional President, Mr. Prince Akunor, urged members to remain united and intensify advocacy efforts to ensure that the concerns of persons with disabilities receive the attention they deserve.

The Head of the Mental Health Unit at Keta Government Hospital, Mr. Che Tsatsu Sorkpor, educated participants on mental health, rehabilitation services, accessible healthcare, inclusive education and the importance of supporting caregivers of children with disabilities.
The event also featured messages from officials of the Keta Municipal Assembly, who reiterated their commitment to promoting disability inclusion and ensuring that persons with disabilities have equitable access to government programmes and services.
The inauguration and swearing-in of the executives mark a new chapter in the municipality's efforts to strengthen disability advocacy and foster an inclusive society where every individual can participate fully in local development.
