The Klagon Divisional Council (KDC) is to put up a police station at Klagon to help fight crime within the community.

Nii Bortey Klan, Klagon Mantse, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at his residence at Klagon over the weekend, said the project which would soon take off at the estimated cost of 40,000 Ghana Cedis, would be completed in about a year’s time.

Nii Klan who was reviewing his 10-year anniversary as chief of Klagon (from December 2003 to December 2013) said, one of the remarkable achievements of the Divisional Council is that, it has been able to clamp down on the nefarious activities of land-guards in the area.

He said within the last decade, the Council has constructed a Secretariat for its use, put some of the roads within the township into good shape, and built a market for the traders.

He reiterated the advice for the youth in the area to dissipate and exert their energies on profitable and viable ventures, instead of indulging in social vices, because those vices would only ruin their future lives, and make them unacceptable by society.

Nii Klan advised his people to remain united, and rally solidly behind the Council, so that in a collective manner, they could initiate more development programmes in the years ahead to improve their standards of living.
