TARKWA: More road accidents recorded
Deputy Commissioner of Police Kofi Boakye, the Western Regional Police Commander, has appealed to the Urban Roads Department and other agencies to ensure proper road markings on all major roads within the Region to curbl needless accidents.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Kofi Boakye, the Western Regional Police Commander, has appealed to the Urban Roads Department and other agencies to ensure proper road markings on all major roads within the Region to curbl needless accidents.
He cited the Tarkwa/Nsuaem Road which is without road markings and and said “That stretch has recorded 1,577 resulting in 47 deaths this year.”
The Regional Police Commander made this known at the Western Regional Road Safety Awards to honour some distinguished transport unions and individuals.
DCOP Boakye appealed to the Regional Minister and the Urban Roads Department to, as a matter of urgency, to take action to avoid accidents.
Alhaji Sumani Mbo, Western Regional Boss of the National Road Safety Commission, said the increasing number of road crashes called for a holistic approach.
