Assembly members of the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality on Thursday retained the President’s nominee Mrs. Christina Kobina as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

The incumbent MCE for the Municipality, needed two thirds of the votes of the 42 members present, and she polled 33 votes against 9 no votes.

Some of the National Democratic Congress executives in the Western Region, together with those in the Tarkwa Nsueam constituency, who were present at the emergency meeting to confirm the MEC, expressed gratitude to the assembly members for retaining Mrs. Kobina, to enable her to continue the good work she had begun.

Mrs. Kobina in her acceptance speech thanked the assembly members and pledged to work with them to speed up development in every community.

The MCE in addition, promised to let transparency and accountability prevail in the Municipality, as she begins her second term in office.
