Mr Kwame Adu-Gyamfi, Assemblyman for Akumsa-Domase Electoral Area in the Nkoranza South Municipality, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to organise a by-election to elect an Assembly member for Aduaka Electoral Area.
Akumsa-Domase located along the Nkoranza-Techiman highway, about four kilometres from Nkoranza, is one of the populous communities in the Municipality.
Mr Adu-Gyamfi, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Akumsa-Domase, said the former Assemblyman, the late Christian Amo-Poku died in October 2011 but had not been replaced.
He said the deceased died in a road accident on the Nkoranza-Techiman road.
Mr Adu-Gyamfi said although the Aduaka Electoral Area is a suburb of Akumsa-Domate, he could not temporarily add the electoral area to his work because the town is big.
He congratulated the unit committee members in the electoral area for their hard work in managing affairs for the past two years.
