TOLON:Five new communities connected to national grid

After many years of staying off-grid and not benefiting from electricity supply, the area engineers of the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Tamale have now confirmed that the way is now paved for five new communities in the Tolon district to be hooked to the national grid.

After many years of staying off-grid and not benefiting from electricity supply, the area engineers of the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Tamale have now confirmed that the way is now paved for five new communities in the Tolon district to be hooked to the national grid.

Areas cited in this new development included Tunayili,Gbulahigu,Kunguri,Gundaa, and Nyujagyili, meanwhile Member of Parliament for the Tolon constituency, Wahab Suhiyini Wumbei has stressed that efforts were still in place to connect other deprived areas soon.

Hon. Wahab Wumbei in the wake of this development says this will have a far reaching influence on the quality lives of many who reside in these beneficiary communities.

Speaking to Ghanamps.gov.gh, the MP indicated that he expects a boost in economic activities for the beneficiary areas and also expressed happiness that inhabitants will now be able to catch up with current issues in the country , at least for those fortunate to access Television and radio sets in their various homes.

He was thankful to government for the earnest move to ensure further expansion in the energy delivery programme for his area, and pleaded for more support to reach out to the hinterlands and villages that do not have light yet.
