Assembly members of the Asante Akyem North District Assembly would today decide the fate of Mr. Paul Kingsley Arweh Averu who was nominated by President Mahama to occupy the position of a District Chief Executive (DCE) in the area.

Until the Mr. Averu’s, the assembly which was one of the newly created districts in the country in 2012 had been without a DCE.

As per local government laws, assembly members have been mandated to either confirm or reject outright the candidature of an MMDCEs upon his/her nomination by the President.

In all 26 assembly members and 10 appointed members who make up legislators for the Asante Akyem North District assembly are expected to participate in the voting exercise which will be held at Agogo today.
