Nana Baa, Nyinfahen of Nkusukum Traditional Area, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for re-nominating Mr Hayfron as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman.

He said the four-year tenure of Mr Hayfron has brought unprecedented progress and development to the Municipality.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Nana Baa said records from the Assembly show that Mr Hayfron has executed 44 new classroom blocks for kindergarten, primary and Junior High Schools in the Municipality.

Mankessim Senior High and Technical School also benefitted from five different projects, whilst Kwegyir Aggrey at Anomabo benefitted from four projects and Mfantseman Girls’ High School had six and the Methodist High School at Saltpond had four projects.

He said records also showed that 21 out of the 22 communities without electricity have now been connected to the national grid.

Nana Baa said the MCE has managed to acquire 810,000 Euros from Training Research and Networking for Development (TREND) for sanitation projects at Mankessim out of which the Assembly paid five percent as its counterpart funding.

The project includes a five 18-seater W/C toilets, 12 skip containers, culverts, drainage plan for Mankessim and household toilets which 30,000 Ghana cedis has been provided as revolving fund.

He said under Mr Hayfron the Municipality has constructed 40 boreholes to provide water for the people.

The MCE has also constructed ICT Centre at Mankessim, constructed a number of health facilities and roads while awarded projects under Urban Development Grant Projects at the cost of 1,302,979.45 Ghana cedis.

Nana Baa said Mr Hayfron has led the Assembly to pass the Functional Organisation Assessments Tool (FOAT) conducted to assess the performance of the district assemblies for District Development Fund (DDF) for three consecutive years and the Local Government Capacity Support Fund for Urban Development Grant for Municipal Assemblies two consecutive years.

He commended President John Dramani Mahama for re-nominating Mr Hayfron and appealed to the assembly members to endorse his re-nomination for him to continue with the good works he has being doing for the Municipality.
