A 35-year old tutor of the Mfantsiman Senior High School (SHS), Mr Akwasi Agyei, has been elected by the Bibiani Anwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly as its Presiding Member (PM).

This was after his challenger Mr Gyampong Okumawuo withdrew his nomination.

Mr Agyei polled 42 votes out of the 48 cast to sail through.

Earlier attempts by the assembly on April 30, to elect the PM ended inconclusively after two rounds of voting, which could not produce a winner.

Mr Adjei called for unity, cooperation and understanding among members of the assembly to help speed up the progress of the area.
