BIBIANI:Cocoa farmers to cultivate newly improved hybrid cocoa seedlings
Cocoa farmers in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District in the Western Region have received free hybrid cocoa seedlings from the Assembly to improve cocoa production in the area.

Cocoa farmers in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District in the Western Region have received free hybrid cocoa seedlings from the Assembly to improve cocoa production in the area.
The high-yielding, early bearing cocoa seedling, introduced by the Ghana Cocoa Research Institute has for the past few years been supplied to some cocoa growers in the country as part of government’s effort to enhance cocoa production in the country.
Cocoa production in recent time been very tremendous in some sectors of the country with the use of the newly improves cocoa seedlings, thereby prompting the assembly to introduce farmers in the area to these new hybrid seedlings.
The move is aimed at improving cocoa production in the District to enable the country exceed Ivory Coast’s 1.4 million metric tones of cocoa produced every year, making it the leading producer in the world.
However in other developments, the Assembly has also renovated the Bibiani Fire Service Station to enhance activities of fire service personnel in the area.
