The DCE for the Mion District Assembly in the Northern region, Dan Makandan has revealed that the district is making inroads in achieving quality education following the removal of numerous schools under trees in the area.

The DCE for the Mion District Assembly in the Northern region, Dan Makandan has revealed that the district is making inroads in achieving quality education following the removal of numerous schools under trees in the area.

He claimed the government has secured excess dignified structures in the form of either 3 unit or 6 unit classroom blocks in the deprived communities to replace such substandard structures which then existed in certain local areas of the district.

Mr. Makandan made the point in an address during an Assembly sitting held recently at Sang in the Northern region.

He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to step up efforts in providing more infrastructure at both the basic and second cycle schools to assist improve the standard of education districtwide.

He also pointed out that consequent to the expectations of the residents regarding the flow of development projects in the area, government is in the process of releasing the ‘seed money’ that was promised the assembly for development, adding that this facility would purposely be fixed for implementing massive projects and programmes that will inure the benefits of residents.
