The assembly man of Kpajai electoral area in the Kpandai District, Hon. Kofi Donkor has expressed his displeasure over the lack of adequate social amenities in his area.
According to him, the absence of such basic social facilities including good roads and hospital has greatly affected the social lives of the people in the area.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Hon. Kofi Donkor, stated that the unavailability of a hospital in the area has made access to quality health care very difficult for the residents.
He noted that patients who are sent to nearby towns for medical attention especially emergency cases resort to the use of motorbikes as the means of transport, adding that sick persons are sandwiched between the rider and a third person to hold the patient in check, a situation he describes as pathetic.
Hon. Kofi Donkor called for the construction of good roads to enable easy transportation of people and other agricultural products to near by villages.
Touching on electricity connection, he stated that the area is yet to be connected to national grid, adding that ever since 1990 when the area was promised connectivity, they are yet to receive light, which has compelled the people to still depend on lanterns and candles as sources of light.
Hon. Kofi Donkor appealed for the construction of dams and bore holes to improve the access to potable water for the inhabitants of Kpandai.
