The Asunafo South District Dr. Eric Acolatse has indicated that the hospital in the area is bedeviled with contraints.
 
These include difficult and inaccessible terrain in some sub-districts, inadequate numbers of professional health staff as well as inadequate technical and administrative staff.
 
Others are the inadequate of staff accommodation, lack of a District hospital, inappropriate office accommodation for the district health directorate.
 
Late payment for service delivery by the District Health Insurance Scheme as well as inadequate financial resources and frequent breakdown of motorbikes.

He indicated that the doctor patient ratio is 1:9,420 while the nurse patient ratio is 1: 4,721.
 
According to Dr Acolatse in 77,579 accounted for morbidity in year 2008 while between January and July, morbidity was 37,376 adding that the birth rate for 2008 was 44.3 per cent of district population.
