Commercial drivers in the Asunafo South District and Asunafo North Municipality have appealed for the rehabilitation of some roads to prevent accidents.

Some of them told the Ghana News Agency that the poor nature of the roads that link to Akrodie, Asumura and New-Sawireso had led to frequent accidents.

“We have to manoeuvre our way round potholes and this poses a serious threat to passengers, oncoming vehicles and other motorists”, Mr. Kofi Agyei, one of them said.
 
Mr Kwabena Yeboah, a driver who plies the Asumura/New Sawireso road, said because of the huge potholes some vehicles had broken down and this had stalled economic activities of people.

He said some drivers had refused to ply the road with the result of foodstuffs locked up on farms.
