BAWKU : Government renews Bawku curfew
Government has renewed the curfew imposed on the Bawku Municipality and Gushegu township and their immediate environs for another week with effect from Monday, November 16.

Government has renewed the curfew imposed on the Bawku Municipality and Gushegu township and their immediate environs for another week with effect from Monday, November 16.
A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday and signed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Cletus Avoka said the curfew hours for Bawku municipality is from 0600 hours to 1800 hours while that of Gushegu township is unchanged from midnight to 0400 hours each day.
It said the decision was on the advice of the Upper East and Northern Regional Security Councils.
The government assured the public of its commitment to ensure peace as well as law and order in the country at all times, and warned that it would not hesitate to
deal with all persons who intend to disturb the peace in the country.
The government appealed to all stakeholders, including the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, religious leaders and the people to work together towards the achievement of peace in their respective communities.
Government reiterated that there was a ban on all persons in the Bawku Municipality including Zabugu, Binduri, Pusiga, Zoasi and the Gushegu Townships and their environs from carrying arms, ammunitions, or any offensive weapons, and anyone found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
