After several attempts to get District  Chief Executive prove unsuccessful, the Ketu North District Assembly last Thursday overwhelmingly approved Mr Claver Kofi Lawson, 42, as the District Chief Executive.

With only one vote against out of 29, he won with a masive 96.38 percent, even though a fouthnight ago, he could not obtain the mandatory two-thirds of the votes.

Mr Lawson told the assembly after taking the oaths of office that he would pursue a vigorous educational policy and not engage in vindictiveness.

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Col Cyril Necku (rtd), reminded the DCE of the task ahead of him as the district was new and expectations of the people were high.

Mr Moses Azaglo, who was first nominated by the President as DCE for the Assembly failed twice to get the required votes and was therefore replaced.
