Some members of the Ketu North district assembly have stated that the two time rejection of the President’s district chief executive nominee  was not  a show of disrespect to him.

They said the nominee was rejected because of his bad track record and intimidation of some members of t he assembly.

This was contained in a petition signed by Mr. Emmanuel Yao Ahlodza, the chairman of the Emmanuel Subcommittee of the assembly, and 14 other members.

The petition explained that just after the second rejection of Mr Moses Azaglo, he allegedly mobilised  a mob to attack the assembly members and never bothered to apologise afterwards.

The statement said had it not been police intervention, the assembly members would have been lynched, a situation which was contrary to the peace message being  preached by President J.E.A Mills.

" The goodwill message to His Excellency is that just as Ghanaians wished fora change in your nomination in the shortest possible time and you will never regret it if you make the change", the petition said.

It also urged the President to ignore the appeals of some ignorant and selfish pressure groups for Mr Azaglo to be renominated and no assemblymember has changed his mind to vote for Mr. Azaglo.

"Therefore, for the district to move forward, the Ketu North assembly members want nothing but a change in your nomination and shall be well with your heartfelt  Ketu North district,"the petition concluded.
