The Ho Politechnic Chapter of Ketu North District Tertiary Student Union has appealed to President Mills to re-nominate previously rejected Moses Azaglo for consideration and approval as District Chief Executive (DCE).

According to them since Mr. Azaglo is the one generally approved by the chiefs from the four traditional areas in the district, it will be prudent for the president to re-nominate him considering his position on the role of chiefs in the nomination of DCEs.

In a statement signed by the union’s President, Moses Aglina, the students explained the absence of a DCE is adversely affecting development given the fact the the district is one of the newly created ones.

The students observed the districts’s development should be of concern to to everybody hence the actions and comments by some individuals’whose whoe selfish interests masterminded the rejection of the nominee" raises doubt about their true commitment to progress in the area.

It pointed out political differences must not take preference over the development of the district and is therefore making a passionate appeal to the president and assembly members to re-nominate and approve Mr. Azaglo to enable the district get its share of the needed development.

The students also appealed to those opposed to Mr. Azaglo’s nomination to consider the development of the district first and leave out their personal interests further calling on other concerned citizens in the area to add their voices to the issue.

Ketu North District is one of two districts in the Volta region that has no DCE.The second is Biokoye where an injunction has been placed on the location of the district capital.

In the case of Ketu North the President’s nominee was rejected on two occasons. Howevere, many concerned citizens of the area including chiefs have since been appealing to the President to re-nominate him.
