The New Ashongman Community Hospital in the Ga East district of the Greater Accra region has assured the community that it will advance and facilitate emergency service delivery in their health care provision.

Inview of this, the hospital is in the process of initiating a comprehensive zonal layout of the community and create a toll free call centre with a configured decentralised  communication network for residents to call during emergencies.

A board member, Mr. Apraku Cobbald of the hospital noted that the communication network will let the hospital know where a patient is calling from without giving directions.

The hospital has also provided free medical screening and diagnosis for the people of Ashongman and its surrounding communities as well as a float to mark its 1000th patient day.

People were screened for hypertension, diabetes and body mass index.

Mr. Apraku Cobbald said the hospital was established in July, this year to provide quality health care to members of the commnunity.

He said the hospital, which is noted for its friendly management staff,also followed up on patients, once they had been treated and discharged from the hospital.
