(EFFIDUASE) SEKYERE EAST: Assembly embarks on development projects

The Sekyere East District Assembly in the Ashanti Region is to embark on an electrification project to extend electricity to about six towns in the area.

The Sekyere East District Assembly in the Ashanti Region is to embark on an electrification project to extend electricity to about six towns in the area.

The towns are: Dakoho, Mahinso, Adurom, Anunya, Naama and Nkwankwanua.

The Sekyere East District Chief Executive, Mr. Kwadwo Adae, who disclosed this to Newsmen, noted that apart from the provision of electricity, the assembly would undertake other development projects, including the provision of water.

On electricity, he said he had been in touch with both the Minister of Energy, Mr. Emmanuel Buah, who had assured him of extending electricity to the six communities.

"They shared the concerns of the people and assured me that the townd would not be left out" he said, and indicated that he had been asked by the ministers to submit a written notice for the execution of the project.

Mr. Adae promised to submit the letter next week, and assured the people of the towns of getiing electricity in the shortest possible time.

According to him, he had also contacted the contractor working on four other projects at Brofoyedru, Awaham, Akokoasoand Ahensan.

He said the Effiduase-Asokere road project, which has been abandoned, would commence very soon, adding that he had met and discussed the issue with the Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Joe Gidisu.

Mr. Adae said the minister gave him the assurance that the project would be completed before the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the reign of the Asokoremanhene, Nana (Dr.) Susubiribi Asante.
