The government is to construct more hospitals, clinics, health centers and provide logistics to health professionals to enable them work effectively, Mr. Eric Opoku, the Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has said.
He was addressing more than 200 nurses drawn from the region at Bechem during the Nurse’s Week celebration.
Mr. Opoku said the government would provide avenues for training of quality nurses.
He said since motivation and good conditions of service went with good service delivery, the government would do its best to encourage health professionals to give off their best.
Mr. Eric Apperkon, Regional Chairman of Ghana Registered Nurses Association, appealed to the government to address the deplorable state of some of the health centers and also find solutions to the accommodation problems facing health professionals.
Mr. Zakari Bukari Anaba, District Chief Executive, reminded nurses that since their services were essential to humanity and that their actions and inactions could result in loss of lives, they should act professionally by exhibiting good inter-personal relationship with their patients.
He appealed to nurses to go on outreach programmes to communities to find ways of preventing communicable diseases.
