The Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Yaw Osei Agyei has appealed to people in the municipality to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity to advance the development of the area.
“My appointment is not meant for the people of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) alone, but for all the people within the municipality”, he said.
Nana Agyei made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in a telephone interview, saying “I will accept and consider views from every person from any part of the municipality”.
He stressed that the image of Wenchi could be lifted if there is unity, peace and cohesion among the communities and urged the people to ensure law and order.
“The developmental agenda for the area cannot be achieved with the common fund alone,” he stressed, noting that development will be attained if the internally generated fund is increased.
The DCE said the assembly would adopt measures to help mobilize enough funds for its projects.
Nana Agyei said he would promote transparent administration.
He pledged to establish an educational fund to support needy but
brilliant students to promote the level of education in the area.
“Consultations have already begun with Ngo’s, churches and
philanthropists to contribute to the establishment of the fund”, he said and appealed to the people of Wenchi to support activities that would bring progress to the municipality.
