Some citizens in Wenchi have expressed their disapproval over the encroachment of farmlands at Wenchi farm institute by the Wenchi traditional council and other individuals.
A representative of the citizens Mr. David Mwinmaalu said a new site is being proposed for the institute, which is reasonable but does not meet the technical projection of the institute.
He said the institute is fully owned by government and has appealed to the Omanhene to soften the stands of the traditional council and consider the fact that of the three institutes of its kind in the country, Wenchi is blessed with one.
He urged that other citizenry should engage in activities that will develop the institute into a bigger institution in the very near future.
Noting that , the traditional council in Wenchi should be one that appreciates education as a means of equipping its teeming youth with employable skills that will help address the unemployment problem.

And that has been the mandate of the institute since 1964.
