He said there was the need for them to base their findings on facts and figures and ensure that they were not influenced by any circumstance or controlled by any organization or group of people.

Dr. Appiah was speaking on APRM misconceptions, the concept, achievements and the role of DOCs, at the inauguration of four DOCs for Ashanti Region at Offinso.

The various nine-member committees from three districts and a municipality were selected from identifiable groups and organizations.

The districts were, Offinso North, Sekyere South and Afigya-Kwabre and the Municipality, was Offinso South.

Dr. Appiah said the NAPRM was non-partisan and any member caught associating with any political party or lobbying for position from any political party would cease to be a member of the Committee.

He told the members not to behave as spies, policemen, investigators, auditors and asked them to collaborate with the people to enable them to present accurate reports.

Inaugurating the various DOCs, Chairman of NAPRM,  the Reverend Professor Samuel Kingsley Adjepong, said APRM played a crucial role in the socio-economic and political development of the country.

He observed that the development of the country had been retarded and plagued with poverty, diseases, hunger, child mortality and morbidity though the nation was endowed with material and human resources.

Rev. Prof. Adjepong said with the Council focusing on democracy and good governance, sound economic management, the nation was bound to improve the living standards of the people at all levels.

He appealed to the Municipal, Metropolitan and District Assemblies to support and assist the DOCs with at least 500 Ghana Cedis and other resources to enable them to do their work effectively.

He reminded the committee members that their work was sacrificial but hoped they would have the courage, commitment and dedication to perform the task.

Afigya-Kwabre District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Kwasi Karikari Achamfour, congratulated members of the Committees and urged them to work assiduously to win the confidence reposed in them.
