Tano N. Launches 'TANOFEST26' to Boost Culture and Tourism - MCE

Mr. Pius Sampson Opoku, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, has announced the Assembly's initiative to launch the 'TANOFEST26' program. This festival aims to uncover and leverage the municipality's cultural and tourism potential for economic development.

Mr. Opoku explained that the implementation of 'TANOFEST26' will begin in 2026 and will be integrated into the Easter festivities.

The festival will showcase the unique cultural traditions and potential tourist destinations within the municipality.

The MCE made this announcement during the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Sixth Assembly held in Duayaw-Nkwanta, the municipal capital. He emphasized that the celebration also seeks to foster peace and unity, transcending political affiliations.

He stated, "We also plan to involve natives of Duayaw-Nkwanta who reside abroad, encouraging them to contribute to our development agenda." Despite facing various challenges, the Assembly is committed to working diligently to advance the progressive development of the municipality.

Mr. Opoku called on the community to set aside their differences and unite in support of the government's reset Ghana agenda.

Mr. Francis Datsumor Mensah, the Programmes Officer of the Tano North Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), affirmed the NCCE's continued commitment to enhancing civic education within the municipality.
