Dr Apaak Cuts Sod For Construction Of 24-Hour Economy Market At Fumbisi

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has cut the sod for the construction of a modern 24-Hour Economy Market at Fumbisi in the Upper East Region.

The project is expected to transform economic activities in the district, create employment opportunities and improve the livelihoods of residents.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Dr Apaak said the people of Builsa South remained determined to overcome the developmental challenges confronting the district.

He described the market as a major intervention under the government’s 24-Hour Economy policy, stressing that it was more than a conventional market and would provide continuous economic opportunities for residents.

Dr Apaak also expressed appreciation to constituents for their continued support and assured them of his commitment to advancing development in Builsa South.

The District Chief Executive for Builsa South, Anne Musah, assured the contractor and other stakeholders of the Assembly’s support to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

Representing the Builsa Traditional Area, Thomas Akanko also pledged the commitment of chiefs and elders to the successful completion of the project.

The Project Consultant, Sampson Awuah, disclosed that the market is expected to be completed within 36 months.
