Upper Denkyira West Assembly Plans Borehole Projects to Improve Access to Safe Water
Date Created : 11/4/2026 12:00:00 AM : Story Author : Irene Danso/Ghanadistricts.com
The initiative forms part of the Assembly's development priorities aimed at addressing water supply challenges and ensuring that residents have access to safe and reliable drinking water.
Under the planned interventions, the Assembly intends to rehabilitate non-functional boreholes, improve existing water facilities and construct new ones in communities where access to potable water remains a challenge.
The interventions are expected to reduce the difficulties residents face in accessing clean water for domestic use, particularly in rural communities where reliable water supply remains essential to everyday life. Access to safe drinking water is also expected to contribute to improved sanitation and public health by reducing residents' dependence on potentially unsafe water sources.
The Assembly recognises that access to potable water is an important component of community development and remains committed to supporting infrastructure projects that improve the welfare of residents.
The planned borehole interventions will complement other development efforts in the district, particularly those aimed at improving basic social amenities and living conditions.
The Assembly is expected to work towards implementing the projects in beneficiary communities as part of its broader commitment to expanding access to essential services and promoting sustainable development in the Upper Denkyira West District.
