These fuel-efficient coalpots have been distributed to residents in five key communities: Akweikrom, Akloman, Akutuase, Asamoakrom/Ongwaso, and Bimpongegya, with each community receiving 200 units.

Mr. Yawson highlighted that the core aim of this initiative is to combat climate change by reducing the reliance on firewood, a practice he identified as a major contributor to deforestation.

He expressed profound gratitude to ECOLINKS for their ongoing support, noting that this is not their first contribution to the district, and credited his persistent lobbying efforts for securing this valuable donation.

The Assembly member for the Akweikrom-Akloman electoral area, Mr. Stephen Korang, conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Yawson for including his communities. He revealed that his electoral area alone received 600 coalpots and commended the DCE for his non-partisan approach to development.

Mr. Korang praised the DCE's leadership, predicting significant benefits from his initiatives.

The gyapa coalpots are designed to be highly fuel-efficient, consuming less charcoal.

This is expected to directly lead to a reduction in the felling of trees for fuel purposes, thereby contributing to environmental conservation.

Looking ahead, Mr. Yawson encouraged residents to anticipate further developmental projects, hinting at the prospect of more NGOs stepping forward to support the district's growth and sustainability efforts.
