GA W: Assembly to demolish unauthorized structures

All is set for a demolishing exercise in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra as the Assembly moves to eliminate perennial flooding in the area.

The move, to demolish these unauthorized buildings, is expected to be carried out on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West, Clement Wilkinson, who spoke to the media, described the assembly’s readiness to pull down all illegal structure along the Nsakina River.

According to him, “People put up huge mansions here, but we tried to stop them. So we have set Wednesday, September 15, 2021, for the demolition.”

He said the move also forms part of Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey’s quest to make the country's capital clean and work again.
