According to the Managing Director, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI has shown commitment to partner with the Government to improve standard of living for people under his jurisdiction, Central Region and Ghana as a whole adding that his gesture is worthy of emulation.
Mr. Adam Mutawakilu stated these during interactions with Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI and his Nananom at Gomoa Ajumako to find a way of solving water crisis that has been hitting Communities in the Gomoa East, Gomoa Central and Gomoa West Districts in the Central Region. The Managing Director noted that President Mahama was committed to sustainable quality water supply for every Ghanaian and will do everything possible to offer quality drinking water for the citizenry despite recent illegal activities of Galamsey on water bodies.
Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI in his welcome address said the invitation was to handover a defiant Irrigation Dam at Gomoa Mpremam to Ghana Water Company to be used as treatment plant to supply quality water to curtail intermittent shortage of Water in the vicinity.
“Over the years, Communities in Gomoa and its surrounding areas have been hit with shortage of Water. This project is completed would bring life to our people because they say Water is Life"
Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI assured Mr. Adam Mutawakilu that Nananom were ready to support the project to begin operations and if the need be, find investors to partner Ghana Water Company to execute the project. “This Water crisis did not start under His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama led NDC Government regime, it has been there for years but they refused to listen to our plight. President Mahama being a listening President will listen to us because we have confidence in him to deliver,"
Mr. Adam Mutawakilu after visiting the dam site at Gomoa Mpremam assured that he would assign officers with technical know-how to undertake feasibility study and report back accordingly, but was quick to say that the dam has the capacity to supply Water to the people.
“As we all know, the Kwanyarko Water Treatment Plant is facing challenges so this initiative by Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI is welcome news and we welcome it wholeheartedly.
We have been thinking of alternative ways to supplement the Kwanyarko Water Treatment Plant, we will continue to be grateful to Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI and his Nananom for his humanitarian services to Water shortage once and for all in Gomoa and beyond," Mr. Adam Mutawakilu noted.
