President Mahama urged to constitutionalize payment of Assembly Members

The Assembly Member for Dome West in the Ga East Municipality, Ebenezer Kwaw, has lauded President John Dramani Mahama for honoring his promise to support assembly members with monthly allowances.

He further called on the President to consider adding assembly members to Article 71 office holders of the 1992 Constitution.

Mr. Kwaw noted that ensuring timely and structured allowances will not only improve the welfare of assembly members but also boost their morale, enabling them to execute their responsibilities with greater efficiency and dedication.

He also noted that the allowance would encourage them to take an interest in the voluntary supervision of all ongoing government projects within their respective electoral areas.
