The Kwaebibirem District has launched a week long celebration of the 25th Anniversary of its establishment under the theme Sustainable Development.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel R.A Osae, officially launched the program at the remote village of old Ntronang after a massive clean-up exercise at Kade, the District capital.

Kwaebibirem District was established in November 1988 after the creation of Kade and Akwatia constituencies, all of which used to be part the West Akim District.

The Akwatia constituency is now a district, the Denkyembour District is one of the 46 districts created in 2012.

Launching the Silver Jubilee celebration the DCE said, the Glorious Celebration was important because it afforded the people the chance to make a sober reflection of the districts successes and failure so as to carve a way forward for the future.

"It also gives us the opportunity to analyze our mistakes and limitation and plan for a meaningful development he said.

Mr Osae said despite the numerous challenges that the District faced, it was striving hard to facilitate the improvement of the quality of life of residents through effective mobilization and utilization of resources for the development of the District within the contest of good governance.

The DCE called on all hands to be on deck to ensure total development of the District as envisaged by the founding fathers and mothers.

He saluted the pacesetters through whose relentless effort, commitment, fortitude and vision led to the establishment of the districts.

The Chief of old Ntronang, Nana Apietu ll said his people has benefited from such project as a school block which hither to was a hut and the school feeding program.

He said drivers were taking advantage of poor nature of roads in the area to charge extravagant fares and called for improvement of the road and also the functioning of a clinic constructed in the area which is lying idle.

The climax of the celebration will be a grand durbar on Saturday March 2.
