The North Dayi District Assembly in collaboration with Needy Club Ghana, a non-governmental organization has cut sod for the commencement of construction of a new Community-based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound for Jordanu-Aneta community.
The new facility being constructed with financial support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), would include four (4) offices, consulting room, ward and sanitary facilities to offer quality health services to residents in the area.
It also comes with a 3-unit semi-detached nurses quarters to provide ready accommodation to the health personnel close to the facility so that residents can be offered 24hour services no matter the time they get to the facility.
The assembly according to the District Chief Executive for North Dayi, Mr. Stephen Komla Timinca was compelled to seek assistance for a more befitting health facility to cater for the increasing population and more importantly as the rented apartment used as the health center was being taken over by the owner who is returning home having gone on pension.
He commended the timely intervention of Needy Club Ghana, and JICA (financiers of the project) to solve what would have been a very difficult moment for the residents in accessing health delivery if they had not come to the aid of the assembly.
Provision of the CHPS compound is in line with directive by the President John Dramani to all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to endevour to provide more CHPS in improve health accessibility.
One can therefore say that the assembly is just on course to making good this dream as the DCE revealed that more measures are in the pipeline for the health sector.
