A 13-member committee, tasked with the responsibility of the naming of streets in the Asante-Akim South District has been inaugurated with a call to them to stick to laid down procedures.

A 13-member committee, tasked with the responsibility of the naming of streets in the Asante-Akim South District has been inaugurated with a call to them to stick to laid down procedures.

Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said they should carry out the job with a sense of urgency and commitment.

The project would help to improve data collection and easier identification of properties, "it is critical for revenue mobilization".

The committee, made up of experts and heads of some decentralized departments has 18 months to complete its assignment.

The DCE urged teamwork and assured members of the Assembly’s support.

He encouraged the Committee to undertake massive public education ahead of the implementation to remove any misunderstanding or confrontation with the people.

Mr Charles Oteng, the District Coordinating Director, called for collaboration between the Committee and the Assembly to ensure its success.

Miss Abigail Bonnah, the team leader, said they would not be disappointed.
