The District Chief Executive for Upper Manya Krobo in Eastern Region, Hon. Joseph Tetteh Angmor is spear heading selected road projects in the District, which also includes Otrokepe – Aketepuor road.

The deplorable nature of roads in the district has made transportation of goods and services to market centres very difficult thus affecting economic activities.

The DCE interacting with Ghanadistricts.com, indicated that most people in the District are predominantly farmers, for that matter it was important to assist them to get good roads to transport their produce early enough to places for sale to reduce post harvest losses which has been identified as the major causes of farmers not making enough profit in spite of the hard work they do after. 

The DCE however intimated that the projects were essentially targeted to be implemented in the off-season period virtually at the time that farmers were idle in their farms.

“Having the grader at our disposal will ensure that regular maintenance works are carried out on our roads especially at the time that most roads are deteriorated by heavy down pours” he stated.
