Mr Issifu Sualisu Be-Awuribe, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Gonja, has handed over the administration of the District Assembly following the expiration of his tenure of office.

Mr Bede Ziedeng, Northern Region Regional Minister, has taken over the administration of the District until a substantive DCE is appointed by the President.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony in Buipe, Mr Be-Wurabe commended the NPP administration for carving the District out of the West Gonja,

He indicated that the district had seen massive infrastructure development under the NDC and expressed the hope that his successor would continue with the ongoing development projects.

Mr Be-Wurabe said he was among the few lucky DCEs in the country to finish a four-year mandated term because many of his colleagues DCEs were sacked midstream.

He thanked staff of the Assembly and the people of the area for cooperating with him to execute many projects, which would impact positively on the lives of the people.

Mr Be-Wurabe said education, health and water sectors were his focus adding “My main concern was to improve the water situation in Kosawgu and I will like to appeal to my successor to strive and continue with the ongoing water project in that area”.

He asked the assembly members to forgive him if he unknowingly wronged any one and that he would always make himself available to offer any help for the assembly until a substantive DCE was appointed.

Mr Bede Ziedeng commended the DCE for the infrastructure development in the area and wished him well in all his future endeavours.

Mr Ziedeng said politics was like a dogs’ play, “fall and let me fall is the beauty of the game”.

He appealed to the staff of the assembly to cooperate with him as he acts as DCE until a substantive one was appointed to push the development agenda of Buipe forward.
