The Volta Regional Minister, Henry Ford Kamel is scheduled to commission a fully completed steel bridge project constructed on River Manu in the Jasikan district.

The District Chief Executive for the Assembly, Nana Barima Kumessy Bonsy II, who revealed this in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com, said the Assembly has perfectly laid all plans to that effect, adding that if everything goes on well, the project will possibly be commissioned on 4th December, 2012.  

According to him, the project executed to purposely power the district’s Road infrastructure was implemented by the Department of Feeder Roads and was also greatly supported by the Jasikan District Assembly. 

Meanwhile, as part of ways to improve the social lives of residents in the district, the Assembly has joined forces with the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) to enhance the water system at Akaa, and the district as a whole.

In this regard, a new mechanized borehole meant to improve accessibility to potable water has been secured for inhabitants of Akaa and the surrounding environs.

Nana Barima Bonsy II noted that the move is intended to end the woes of residents regarding the difficulty in getting safe drinking water for domestic use. 

He reiterated that courtesy the implementation of the “Better Ghana” agenda programme, the district will  be better of when it comes to water issue, noting that the Assembly is on its toes to push all efforts in increasing accessibility to potable water in the area.
