Four environs in the Kwala Electoral Area in the Sissala West District are facing severe challenge with potable water for use in their homes.
The areas known to be Paana, Kunni, Gbal, and Kwala are grappling with the reality of managing one borehole which was drilled at the time of Hilla Linmann’s regime, Ghanadistricts.com has gathered.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com on the issue, the assembly member for the area, Esther Kuppah said the situation even worsens in the dry seasons, as these communities struggle to get access to a stream which the inhabitants normally depend on during the perennial dry seasons.
She therefore appealed to the assembly and other development partners to come to the aid of the area and drill more boreholes for them to improve the social lives of inhabitants.
On education, the assembly member pleaded for the swift construction of a culvert on a river that connects Paana and Kwala to enable school children cross the river to attend school. The river overflows its banks during rainy seasons, making it difficult for school children to cross.
